About the Issuer
- 2009 – Ucom company was founded. By introducing the “Fiber to the Home” solution the newly-founded company succeeded in ensuring provision of high-quality IPTV, broadband internet and digital phone services.
- 2010 – Ucom became the biggest Internet wholesale operator in Armenia due to having its own fiber-optic cable between Armenia and Georgia.
- 2011 – Ucom started providing transit internet services to the Near East.
- 2013 – Ucom was granted a license for provision of public mobile broadband internet services, and in 2016 acquired 100% shares of Orange Armenia, thus expanding its operation to the Armenian mobile market.
- 2016 – Ucom launched the 4G+ network – which meets the best international standards – on all the territory of Armenia. By means of its own fiber-optic (FO) networks, Ucom provides a convergent package of fixed and mobile services to over 700 000 subscribers.
- 2017 – Ookla company awarded Ucom with “The Fastest Mobile Network in Armenia 2017” based on the ratings on its Speedtest application.
- 2018 – uFleet (fleet management) and uKid (smartwatch and phone for kids) innovative solutions were launched.
- 2019 – Ucom was the first in the region to introduce and implement the eSIM technology, currently available in only 29 countries.
The company also contributes to the implementation of a range of educational programs by assisting “Armath” project to set up engineering laboratories, pilot versions of which will be introduced in the schools in India, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Namibia, Mongolia and Spain; “Ayb” school – to open the unique “Ucom Digital Lab” computer room-laboratory; as well as other prospective projects implemented in Armenia and Artsakh.
