UCOM MAKES DISTANCE LEARNING ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE

31/03/2020

It's already been more than a week since Ucom and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports launched their Distance Learning joint project.

We are pleased to inform that Distance Learning is already accessible throughout Armenia via Ucom’s uMediaroom mobile application.

As of today, 12 new TV channels have been added to the list of the existing ones, by separating a dedicated channel for each school grade. The distance courses prepared by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports are being broadcast via each channel. The subject name and grade are displayed in the video title. Lessons are broadcast live, and the users can benefit from the Catch Up feature to go back watching the missed content of the past 3 days and keep on learning at the most convenient time frame.

It should be noted that all subscribers of Ucom mobile voice services do not pay for the data consumed while viewing videos via uMediaroom app, hence they can watch the programs freely on their mobile devices via mobile internet connection, when there’s no WiFi spot around.

The subscribers of Ucom Universal and uMix packages can watch uMediaroom without paying a monthly fee. As for the others, including the customers of other operators, they can download uMediaroom app from Google Play and App Store and watch the channels for free for a month.

The same videos, classified by grade, date, and subject, are placed in the “Distance Learning” folder of the uTV’s VoD section of Ucom.

“Ucom has always attached importance to the idea of making quality education accessible to everyone in the regions of Armenia, thus creating equal learning opportunities for young generation. Here is why, in a state of emergency, our specialists are constantly trying to offer more comprehensive solutions to all citizens of our country,” said Hayk Yesayan, Co-Founder and Director General at Ucom.
