Ucom has launched 5G using frequency division doubling with a non-standalone deployment methodology (Release 15, 3GPP). This approach integrates 5G technology with our existing 4G network infrastructure for optimal performance and coverage.
Our Non-Standalone 5G operates on a 4G LTE Evolved Packet Core (EPC) foundation. This architecture incorporates both 4G and 5G base stations, with the 4G infrastructure serving as the primary control system. Since the 5G control plane is anchored in the EPC, radio frequency signals are transmitted through the 4G base station.Important Note: As with all mobile technologies, 5G (NSA) speeds may vary based on environmental factors and the number of users in the given area. In densely populated areas, near heavily loaded base stations, or at greater distances from serving base stations, download and upload speeds may be lower than the maximum potential throughput of your device.
